Rae, 21, shared the now-deleted photo to her Instagram this week showingcasing the $100 garment from fashion house Praying in collaboration with Adidas.
The swimsuit featured the social media personality wearing a top with the words “Father” and “Son” over each of her breasts. The bottoms read “Holy Spirit”.
On social media, Rae, who boasts 88.5 million followers on TikTok and 40 million on Instagram, was quickly taken to task with some accusing her of “blatantly making a mockery of Christianity.”

“This is Satan at work 100%. Where is cancel culture now?” one user wrote on Twitter.
“It’s so disrespectful and disgusting,” another added, with a third person warning: “All I’m going to say is — these people are going to learn the hard way not to play with GOD. Just wait and watch.”

On TikTok, commenters were divided about the He’s All That star’s fashion choice after @hannahkosh shared the photo. “No one on her team was like ‘hmm maybe this will upset people. Especially in today’s world.’ Hire a new team,” one person wrote.
“Where is her team?” a second follower chided. “Like no one thought this would possibly be offensive? Like they were like ya this is a great idea.”
Over the weekend, Christina Aguilera posed in a French-language version of the same swimsuit — with the words with “Père,” “Fils” and “Esprit Saint.” She captioned her pics, “Loving me for me.” Aguilera’s fashion statement didn’t generate any blowback with the pop star’s celebrity pal Paris Hilton endorsing the photos with a string of flame emojis.

But according to Page Six, not everyone was disapproving of Rae’s fashion choice. Photographer Mark “The Cobrasnake” Hunter called the bikini a “home run,” while singer Tate McRae raved, “Oh my god Addition.”
On Twitter, one supporter added, “It’s just a bikini … don’t y’all have other stuff to worry about?”
